Halfway through August and it is as quiet as one would expect. Gas markets, and the wider energy complex, are bouncing around in the Australian gas strike news and its wider implications. Providing 10% of the world’s LNG, the news is wide-reaching. The biomass market is on standby. Not wanting to leave anyone behind, the market is waiting for the remainder of purchasers and traders to return in early September.

Overview:
· With freight only making small gains, the increase in biomass prices is on the FOB side.
Demand:
· The spot market into Japan and Europe is quiet
Into ARA on the densified biomass deduct $1+- for every additional 1kt as there is a freight saving.
