After less than productive talks between East & West, gas is rising again in Europe. Troll field is still down and France has some nuclear issues. So, Back to The Future – fuel prices up. Geared vessels are slowly trending down with supramaxes at near 1 year lows. With Chinese New Year around the corner and the Olympics following, coal & gas could get even more volatile.

Overview:

·         RED II is with us. Now begins the task of sitting down with suppliers, auditors and the National Regulator.

·          Biomass demand into non-mandated parties had a taster in 2021. 2022 biomass is now part of the EU energy market. Cement, Lime, Petrochemical producers, etc. If they burned coal, they now add biomass.
